Jesus and Thomas

Date: Sunday 3rd April
Session: Jesus and Thomas
Series: God’s big plan
Bible Passage: John 20: 19-31
Session Aim: To know that Jesus is real

In John’s gospel we see God’s plan coming to fruition. Jesus comes to serve and ultimately to give his life for others, rising in victory to guarantee new life for all who follow him.

In this session we hear about Jesus meeting with the sceptical Thomas. Thomas feels left out as all the other disciples have seen the risen Jesus. Jesus comes again
and Thomas recognises who Jesus truly is. He needed firm evidence that the person he sees is the same person who was crucified. When Thomas does recognise and accept it’s Jesus he delares “My Lord and my God!” (v28) This is him expressing his faith and accecpting a personal relationship with Jesus

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? What would it mean to you to say ‘My Lord and my God’?

I waffle .. Back to the children… We’ll be talking and thinking about how Jesus is real even though we can’t see Him, as Thomas did, we can still have that personal relationship with Him. He loves us, He hears us, He helps us.
